Setting Up BRCS email
You have two choices:
- Use the web-based interface, which requires nothing more than going to BRCS Webmail
- Use a POP3 client such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, Pegasus Mail, etc
If you use a POP3 client, you should follow the instructions of your client software for setting up a new account. You'll need two critical pieces of information:
- The name of the POP3 server: mail.brcs.org
- The name of the SMTP server. This one depends on your Internet Service Provider (ISP). For example, if you use Comcast, the SMTP server is smtp.comcast.net. If you use Bellsouth, the SMTP server is mail.bellsouth.net. If you use a different ISP, you can get this information from them--usually by "Googling" the name of your ISP followed by the words "SMTP server". Also see List of SMTP server settings.
